I've posted these tracks to give you an idea of what to expect if you come to a gig. These are by no means studio quality. The details of how we did the recordings are below as well.
I would ask that if you download my songs then please consider giving me some feedback. Just click on the "Messages" button and leave me a note. I'm not after an ego boost - I'd just like to know who's having a listen, if you were at a gig, if you're arranging an event or if you want me to appear at your venue.
These first two files were recorded in my living room....
The tracks were ripped from my karaoke discs and loaded into Cubase, my mic was connected to our main PC via our Tascam 4 track mixer (preamp) and the vocal was recorded into the mixer program whilst listening to the backing via headphones. A small amount of effect was added onto the vocal track then the finished song was recorded out as a 128 mp3.
Clicking on any of the following songs will launch them using whatever software you use to play mp3s.
If you want to save them, you should right click on them and select `save as`.
These next three tracks were recorded at The Avon bar in Hamilton in 2003.
It was recorded live by taking the tape output from our main mixer amp and feeding it into our old Tascam 4 track. What you hear is basically what we were feeding out to the punters but not taking into account the couple of hundred watts driving it and the room acoustics. We have changed our PA since then, so it would sound quite different now.
Please remember It's LIVE so take this into account when listening.
These tracks were recorded at Kinglassie Miners Welfare Club.
The method used for recording was similar to above, but the output from the amp was fed to the input of our computer soundcard instead, and the tracks recorded using the excellent Audiograbber software. Once again, remember it's live.
