Saturday 27th February 2010 - West End Bar, Leslie

Another new venue for me, courtesy of Select Entertainments - and another excellent night, courtesy of the good people of Leslie.

The lounge had a few people in after we had set up for the night, and I catered for their age group for my first set - with a lot of music from the 60s and 70s.  They applauded every song, and I was over the moon to encounter such nice folk!

For the second of my 3 sets I moved on to some of my more modern tracks, including Alexandra Burke's "Broken Heels" and The Noisettes' "Never Forget You".  The young crowd were just passing through on their way down to Kirkcaldy's club scene, and were happy to have a dance and a drink for a good half hour before leaving.

The crowd for my third set were my favourite kind of crowd - those in their late 30s, early 40s, who like a bit of rock and pop.  my Deep Purple and The Kinks went down a storm, and I was sad to finish before I'd worked my way through my whole book of classic rock... But hey, you have to leave 'em wanting more.......

I hope to return to The West End Bar, and must say a big thank you to Paul and Pat, the owners, who were very welcoming and very appreciative.
