Saturday 27th November 2010 - The Gables Bar, Glasgow

Another first time for me, which keeps me on my toes.  This bar has an upstairs lounge bar, where I was to perform.  We had no idea of the size of the place, so we took our bass bin along too, but left it in the car when we saw the smallish space we had to set up in.  My two srm450s are more than enough for an average bar, so we had nothing to worry about.

The crowd were a bit slow to respond to me on the night, but when they stopped looking open mouthed at me between songs, they soon warmed to me.  I don't know if my approach to gigs is a bit different to what they are used to, but I can only be me.  Bad jokes and all.

I was a bit unsure of material for the night, as the crowd were fairly mixed, but I pulled out a broad range of songs for the first half, doing a bit of country in the second half, and a bit of 21st century stuff to finish.
